Married... again!
Pregnancy is going great, but I finally can't wear my wedding rings. Waking up in the middle of the night because you feel like your fingers are exploding is not the most pleasant experience... and finding that you can't pull off the ring contributing to this feeling is highly agitating. After two nights of this, I decided it was time to take off the rings and put them aside. I could have chosen to put the rings on a necklace, but I can't get over the thought that the chain could break and then bye bye rings. Too scary a thought.
So I came up with my own plan... buy myself a bigger ring! I know other women have done this as well. Something about noticing that people look at your belly and then your finger next really motivates you to get on buying the new one fast! Let me tell you. The tan line I was sporting made it even worse... do people think I'm separating mid-pregnancy?? None of this should matter, but what can I do? To me, it does.
Yesterday, I got a new ring and (yay!) now we're married again. I called R (working in Cali) and told him. Considering he hadn't seen me sans rings, the news did not have much impact on him. The part I'm happiest with is the new term I've coined, "baby ring." I bought a cute little ring (nothing too crazy) that can be sized down the road as needed. I plan on giving this to my child at 13 years old or so, if a girl, so she can wear her "baby ring." If I have a boy, well, I'll just wear it, because it is cute and a little funky. :)
