Two more weeks...

Work just offered/asked that I stay through the end of August. Well, I had a meeting about it on Tuesday, and was given until tomorrow to decide. And we're going to do it! I'm going to take over a friend's apartment (I think) for the last two weeks in August. He is moving to Denver, so it works out well for the both of us. Even better, he lives in the North End... we finally get to live in Boston! So exciting! and then we'll move to Seattle. Sadly, I think we'll still miss S's visit to Boston.

Good Morning!

Rob is now about 4 hours into his bike ride to Provincetown. There's still a long way to go... I'm happy that they at least got a nice day for it. I'm going to feel so lazy driving to the Cape on Friday!! I'll have to see if I can become a "biker" once we get to Seattle. I hate biking on streets... I can't get over my fear that I'm going to fall onto someone's car. I'm not as much worried about a car hitting me, unless it's caused by my swerving 5 feet in the wrong direction. Ok, I'm not that bad, but I certainly do feel that way when on a bike in traffic.

If I become a biker in Seattle, maybe I'll join Nate, Kate and Rob and bike to Vancouver... or maybe this is just crazy talk.

Moving...

It's finally hitting home... we are moving from Boston. We had a wonderful day today (with perfect weather!) - had brunch at Flour Bakery (Toro is closed on Sundays), went on a Fenway Tour, tried out the tacos at La Verdad (go for the pescado, margaritas, and plantain chips), went to the Sam Adams Brewery (and walked out when we realized we'd be with 50 other people), and now are sitting on our porch enjoying some beers. Just had our picnic delivered (bought it at a charity auction at work), and we're going to the Common to enjoy!

But in the midst of all this, somebody came over to buy some of our furniture. He's upstairs looking at OUR bookshelves and drawers. And now he's even said he'll buy them... we are moving. I'm going to miss home. my friends. and the many restaurants I've come to love.

With all that said, we're ready for an adventure. It's going to be an AMAZING summer (Italy, Japan and Hawaii... and maybe even Honduras in September/October)... and then we'll move to a beautiful city. I am excited to find the new restaurants I'll love, reunite with much missed friends, and start finding the parts of Seattle that will tempt me to call it my new home. For now, there's no turning back. and I'm kind of excited about that too.
